ACIMIT www.acimit.it the Italian textile machinery manufacturers’ umbrella association, opens the association comments round. Under its aegis, some 110 members (the individual exhibitors can be retrieved from the internet page above) are taking part in the exhibition, and the Italian firms will occupy 3800 m2 of space. 66 exhibitors are united in a national group – organised by the association and the Italian Trade Commission – represented in four clusters in the halls for spinning machinery, nonwovens manufacture and weaving and finishing machinery. Italian textile machinery manufacturers delivered machinery to Asian markets to the value of EUR 575 million in 2009, with China the biggest market, followed by India, Turkmenistan and Iran. The spinning machinery sector participated in exports to Asia with 31%, finishing machinery with 17%, knitting machines with 14% and weaving machines with 11%, while 10% fell to the lot of other machinery, with 17% attributable to accessories.
